Today started with a hike in Fryman Canyon Park. It's perfect for families to hike with lots of nice fat trails for the Bob stroller and still a workout for us. Well, perfect for families...accept for the three rattle snakes we discovered a few feet off the path. California continues to curtail me with these kind of surprises reminding me I'm not in Kansas anymore. Whether it be a rattlesnake or blonde in stilettos with a puppy in her purse this is dangerous country. After the hike we drove a few blocks to the "best farmer's market for kids", the Studio City Farmers Market. A lucky accident (Lila desperate for a clean potty) lead us to lunch at Gangadin, an indian restaurant...the best we've had in LA. We devoured the Chicken Marsala, while Lila sipped on a peach shake. Inspired we perused for peaches at a fruit stand and Annette Benning and her daughter, commented on what a beautiful baby Stella is, I stood there so proudly smiling back at the American Beauty underneath her enormous sun hat, and she sweetly added as she walked off, "and she's got a little something....", she pointed under her nose. They continued on, as I spied the snot hanging above Stella's lips like a bloated yellow caterpillar about to burst. I wiped my little American Beauty's nose and gathered my Mommy humility off the sidewalk.
